The Road Most Traveled: Photographs of migration by Don Barteletti - San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts
October 1, 2006 — January 14, 2007

The Roads Most Traveled visually examines the live of migratory workers in search of economic survival. The exhibition tracks the migration of individuals from Mexico and Central America to the U.S., Kenya to Italy, the Phillipines to Japan, and Pakistan to Afghanistan through 97images by photojournalist Don Bartletti. Ghost Tours at the Whaley House - Whaley House in Old Town
all year; check for seasonal hours

Known for hauntings and occurences attributed to several untimely deaths, the Whaley House has a spooky history and is one of only two certified "haunted" houses in California and often called the "Most haunted house in the US". Visiting the house is always fun, but don't miss the special tour on Friday October 13th or during the Halloween weekend.

Museum of Contemporary Art - TNT events
every thursday night

The first Thursday of every month, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego hosts TNT (Thursday Night Thing), an ongoing program of intriguing events in MCASD's Downtown galleries. Beginning at 7 pm, something different and interesting will be happening downtown— from slide jams, DJ lessons, and poetry readings to live bands, artists' talks, and video projections— TNT's eclectic events will be occasions to interact with the arts and artists in the San Diego region.

Surf Culture: the Art History of Surfing
An interesting survey of surf history through hundreds of photographs and 6 essays. Surfing has become not only a sport, but a lifestyle. According to the authors, the exhibition this book documents was conceived at Laguna Art Museum, with the intent of looking at the relationship between art, surfing and culture from the early 20th century to the present. David Carson, a surfer himself, designed the book.
