Altars will be on view to celebrate the traditional mexican tradition with an exhibition of two great water color and mixed media Artists: Yolanda Romero and Carolina Alvarado from October 28 to November 25. This is a very unique tradition which consists in honoring our loved ones who have passed away by making an altar. All the food that they used to eat when they were alive is prepared and accompanied with special drinks. A couple of their favorite personal belongings and things that they enjoyed in life are also included in the altar. The altar is finished with colorful papers, incense, fruits and candles.
Interrobang Lecture Series - Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla (Coast Room)

Join the San Diego Design Consortium, comprised of local designers, architects, and landscape architects, for their monthly lecture series at MCASD's Coast Room. A reception begins at 6 pm, followed by a lecture at 7 pm. On November 14, hear from Andrea Cochran, Principal, Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture, San Francisco.
Dinosaurs— Reel and Robotic -San Diego Natural History Museum through January 1, 2007
The Museum's newest exhibition "Dinosaurs: Reel & Robotic" showcases the cinematic evolution of dinosaurs from early dino illustration and stop-motion to today's high-tech animation.The exhibit features classic films, the world's largest collection of original movie posters, Hollywood memorabilia, a dino dig box, giant robotic dinosaurs and more. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch an early recording of Disney animators at work as well as "Gertie," the 1914 cartoon that first depicted dinosaurs.
